Princess Diana's parents got a divorce when she was 6 years old. She was the daughter of Edward John, Viscount Althorp (later the 8th Earl Spencer), and his first wife Frances Roche. Her parents divorce settlement gave the viscount custody of the children. While her two older sisters Sarah and Jane were at boarding school, she was at home caring for her little brother until she was old enough to go to boarding school Her older sister Jane married Robert Fellowes. Diana met her husband (Charles Philip Arthur Goerge) when he was courting her sister Sarah. Her father inherited Spencer earldom in 1975. She got married to him on July 29, 1981. Her first son Prince Henry Charles Arthur Philip Louis was born on June 21, 1982. Her second son Prince Henry Charles Albert David was born on September 15, 1984. She divorced her husband on August 28, 1996. The separation was announced on December 9, 1992. Both of her grandmothers served as ladies in waiting to Queen Elizabeth. Her great grandmother Margaret Baring was a member of the German-British Baring family.
